The Tändem project focused on developing an innovative public transportation application in Spain. Our main goal was to enhance the user experience and promote the use of public transportation as a sustainable alternative to private transport. We worked closely with a multidisciplinary team composed of Cristina Costo, Diego Millares, and Alba García to design and implement an intuitive and user-friendly application that provided real-time information on schedules, routes, and public transportation availability.









  • Enhancement of transportation efficiency: Our goal was to provide users with real-time information on public transportation schedules, routes, and availability. By optimizing route planning and offering personalized options, we aimed to reduce travel times and make public transportation a more efficient choice.
  • Improvement of user comfort: We wanted users to have a more comfortable and convenient public transportation experience. Providing accurate and up-to-date information would allow them to plan their trips effectively and avoid unnecessary waits at stops or transportation stations.
  • Promotion of accessibility: We made efforts to make public transportation more accessible to all individuals, considering the needs of users with disabilities or physical limitations. Our application aimed to provide information about accessibility on routes and adapt to the individual needs of users.
  • Encouragement of sustainability: We sought to promote the use of public transportation and reduce reliance on private vehicles, thus contributing to emissions reduction and more sustainable mobility in Spain. We aimed to raise awareness among users about the environmental benefits of public transportation and provide them with tools to make more sustainable travel decisions.


During the implementation of Tändem, our focus was on creating a modern and user-friendly interface. We used advanced technologies to gather and process real-time data from various sources, such as public transportation systems and geolocation services. Additionally, we developed efficient and personalized route planning algorithms, optimizing travel durations and providing suitable options and recommendations for each user.


The launch of Tändem was a success, and the results exceeded our expectations. The application received a very positive response from users, who praised its ease of use, the accuracy and timeliness of the information provided, as well as the ability to plan their trips efficiently. We observed a significant increase in the adoption of public transportation among app users, which contributed to reducing traffic congestion and having a positive impact on environmental sustainability.
